School on Saturdays

As most of you now probably know, I have to go to school on Saturdays 15th, and 22nd. In my opinion, it is wrong for the state to not give us those disaster days, because WE WERE in a state of emergency because of flooding. Now for a lot of people in the neighboring town, Olive Hill was practically washed away. They sit below sea level so water collects easily. Going to school on Saturdays is something that a lot of those kids do not need the added stress, they need time cope, reconcile, and then be able to emotionally stabilize before school. Please note that IT IS Kentucky’s Education department, sitting above sea level and dry, have said that we do have to make those 2 days we missed on May  3-4, 2010; When we were under a state of emergency. It is probably in the best interest of KED to give us those 2 little days… If they seen the images, and videos of what kids and parents are going through, someone with only the cloths on their backs.  I know a lot of people are not sending there kids to school, nor are some teachers even coming, so it’s really no use in having school on those 2 Saturdays. It is unethical, and heart breaking to know that the people we (supposedly) trust are able to weigh this on there conscience without any guilt. I’m honestly going to say that out government is corrupted and broken as of 2010, US citizen – it’s time to take back your country, instead of letting people run your life’s for you!

I don’t see why your complaining…it’s a law to go 180 school days a year…you can either go for 2 Saturdays (big deal) or you cut into others vacation time at the end of the year and make a bunch of people cut back their vacation.
