Why Railroads

I’m asked time and time again why I’m so interested in trains. I cannot fully answer this question. It’s like asking NASCAR fans why they like watching a car go around the track hundreds of times for hours on end.

Railroads were man’s first, true fully artificial means of transportation across the land. It connected one end of the continent to the other, it sped up traveling times and quickly and efficiently moved mass cargo across a great distance.

We went to school to this shot, Guilford Community College to be exact. Their parking lot is conviently located next to the tracks.

So why trains, you ask? Because they’re history and because they’re cool.
